Ending the Silence Presenter Training

Ending the Silence is NAMI’s new in-school presentation program. We are now recruiting youth presenters age 18-30, who are living well with a mental illness or mental health disorder and lead presenters 18+ who are either living with a mental illness or who have a family member living with a mental illness.

Notes: Registration is required for this free training. Register to take the online portion and we will contact you to follow up with training instructions.

2020 NAMI Basics Teacher Training

This training will be held online using Zoom Video Conferencing.

Dates/ times: Friday, June 19 - Sunday, June 21
Application Deadline: June 1, 2020

About the Training: This training is for parents and caregivers of youth who have experienced mental illness. Most of our teachers first take the NAMI Basics course and then take the teacher training to become certified to teach it. The training is provided at no cost with expenses paid primarily through a contract with the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

About the NAMI Basics course: NAMI Basics is a free educational program for parents and caregivers of youth with mental illness. It is usually taught in six weekly sessions lasting 2.5 hours each.

2020 Family to Family Teacher Training

This training will be held online using Zoom Video Conferencing.

About the Training: This training is for family members of individuals living with mental illness who have taken the Family to Family course and would like to become certified to teach it. The training is provided at no cost with expenses paid through a contract with the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

About the Family to Family program NAMI Family to Family is a free, 8-session educational program for friends and family members of  individuals living with mental illness. Additional information is available on the NAMI Missouri Family to Family program page or the National Family to Family program page.

About the Training: This training is for individuals living with mental illness who would like to become certified to facilitate NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups. The training is provided at no cost with expenses covered using a grant issued by the US Department of Health and Human Services through SAMHSA. The training is limited to 18 participants and runs the equivalent of 17.5 clock hours or 21 contact hours.

About Connection Recovery Support Groups: NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups are free, peer-led support groups for adults living with mental illness. Participants gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by NAMI-trained facilitators in pairs of two.
