Seeking Contracted Consumer Support Phone Responder

The Missouri chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Missouri), a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit organization, is seeking a part time fill-in peer phone responder to work on an as-needed basis on weekends and holidays at a rate of $9.75 per hour. The work may be performed remotely or from a home office. Access to a landline phone and computer with internet and email service is required. This is a peer support position, which means the individual must have lived experience with mental illness and mental health services.

Phone responders will receive training and data entry instruction prior to assisting callers, and may be required to attend a two-day training in in Jefferson City. Primary duties will include answering calls from individuals with mental illness to assist in providing friendly, non-judgmental support, encouraging recovery-based activities, and directing callers to other resources, as necessary. Responders must take notes and complete electronic call logs after each call.
